Lovely Weekend, Lonely Monday

Well, it is now quiet in the house once again. Jenna is back to Toledo and all the kids are in school. I have a long list of things to accomplish today. I was hoping the sun would be shining, as it sure helps the gloomy mood of a Monday morning! Instead, I am watching some ducks that found our pond this morning. It is peaceful to see the pair swimming gracefully, ocasionally dipping their heads in the water.

We had some friends over Saturday night and put burgers and brats on the grill. It was nice company with good food, a couple bottles of wine, and a late night dip in the hot tub.

The kids went out on bike rides yesterday, played basketball and rode their new scooters (from Christmas) while I rushed around trying to get all of Jenna's laundry done and her stuff ready to go, while Dan swept out her car. Three months of Toledo snow and slush definitely took a toll on it! It was nice to have one last brunch together before she left. She always thinks she is going to forget something, and many times she does, but it is usually trivial and then a reason for me to ship a care package up to her, but as soon as she arrived at school yesterday afternoon, she realized she left her power cord for her laptop on her desk in her bedroom!
So, it is packaged up and ready to go! She can't live without that! How did I ever graduate from high school, much less college without a laptop?...or a cell phone?...or an Ipod? (Now that is a topic for another post!)

Well, the buzzer just went off on the dryer...my time is up!
