It is not a secret. Shopping is my hobby. But, not any shopping will do! Bargain shopping is my passion. Jenna needed a few things, so we made a day of it yesterday! We headed to Dayton. First stop, Dots. I subscribe to their emails and frequently receive coupons. This one was extra good. "Spend $30, take $10.00 off." At first glance, we didn't see much, but sometimes you have to dig deep for bargains. Natalie is getting her b'day picture taken this week and wants to wear these really cute leopard leggings as part of her fun outfit. She needed a long tunic or sweater to complete the outfit. She raided everyones closet with no luck. I picked up a pretty boring looking black long turtleneck. I asked Jenna to try it on and WOW! It was so cute on!! Much better than on the hangar! $5. I also grabbed another black sweater that had 3/4 flutter sleeves and buttons along the side....how cute!! $7. Jenna found this large purse in kind of a shimmery light gold...so "in" right now. $12. Well, at this point we are almost to $30, so I find this adorable long necklace in the shape of a flower with 5 different colored petals...too cute! $7. Ok, $31 total minus $10 coupon = $21 for 2 sweaters, an awesome purse and a necklace!
Onto TJ Maxx. Significant finds included Speedo goggles which were extremely high on Jenna's list. (She has been swimming 60-70 minutes a day.) They were $5.99 exactly 50% off of Dick's everyday price. In addition, we picked up a new Speedo suit for her in the girls' department for $9.99. Retail was $59.00.
We were on a roll! Headed to the mall.. 1st stop, Body Central. Jenna tries on a few things, but the .99 jewelry is where we found the bargains! Chunky bracelets are hot for Spring and we picked up a few, along with new earrings for her and Lauren. When we get to the register, we find out it's buy 2, get 1 free...so it's back to pick out 2 more items...Now this is fun!! 6 great pieces of jewelry for $4.00!!
I have a Victorias Secret credit card and therefore, get these little "free panty" cards frequently in the mail. I give one to Jenna, one for myself and we head on in. We pick out VS cotton panties in black this time and as I'm reading the fine print, my card says, "free panty and $10 off any purchase". I ask the clerk and clarify. Yes, I can find something for $10.00 and it's free! We pick out some black running-type leggings for Natalie for free...complete with a cute Victoria's Secret pink shopping bag.
Charlotte Russe is a favorite of that High School/College age scene so we head in there. Do you believe Jenna and I walked out with the same pair of shoes? These cute Spring flats that are sling-back with a woven look. I love them! And so did she... (we agree on a lot, but the same exact pair??) Oh yes, they were $9.99, regularly $29They are so cute, I may have even paid $29 for them!!
Enough of mall shopping. We head over to Gabriel Brothers which is a close-out type store. Sometimes you walk in and walk right out, other times you hit the jackpot! Not sure if I would call this a jackpot day, but we sure had fun and got 6-7 good deals! I bought an Ann Taylor adorable summer dress for $9, and a Ann Taylor white embellished skirt for $9. Jenna found 2 Ann Taylor blazers, (looked so cute on her) $9 a piece...probably retailed for $80-$90 each! She also had luck with 2 feminine type blouses from The Limited. I think those were $6 each! Then, we head over to shoes....Jenna finds the clearance section! How fun! $2.00 each pair! She finds a pair of fuschia flats with buckle detail and the same pair in plum for Lauren. Oh, and a pair of khaki Ann Taylor wedge peep-toes for Natalie with the $49.95 price tag still on them! I completed the purchase with black patent low heel pumps with gold detail for again, 2 Bucks!! On the way to the register, we see cases of G2 (Gatorade Light) for $5.99. Yes. 24 bottles! Perfect for Jenna to take back with her!
It is now 6 p.m. and time to head back. Jenna brings the bags with her in the car and we go through everything again on the way home. Her favorite purchase is definitely the gold purse...hmmm...
The perfect accessory to go shopping with tomorrow???
