The "fishy" details

Update. Jenna called this morning to let us know she does not have a broken ankle. Yippee!, I guess. The Dr. told her how important and critical rehab will be for her. If she does not follow her protocol absolutely perfectly and diligently, this injury will cause her other injury, big problems. Either way, she is on crutches and can't drive or get around easily by herself. I'm praying that this short break from all activity will heal her.

We had a wonderful day for a track meet this evening...(NOT!!) I thought for sure with 40 mph wind gusts, they would cancel. No sirree! In the end, Natalie won the mile and the 800 and also helped contribute to an easy 4x400 win! Good job girls despite that awful cold and wind!

We had friends that were passing through Minster from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Cincinnati tonight. They met us at the track meet and we spent some time chatting together in the car between events. I don't know if I could have sat there if I didn't have a child participating. (thanks, Rich and Amy!) When we finished, we tried to catch a quick fish dinner with them. Well, the wait at Oak Tree had what we thought was a half hour wait. It turned into 60 minutes. Then, after we were seated, it took 50 minutes to get our fish. Well normally, since I love fish, it doesn't seem like a sacrifice to me, but tonight, yes, it was a sacrifice! 2 hours for fish was a little much for me. The flip side was that we actually had quality time with 2 of the 5 kids! Natalie and Andrew love fish too and we had plenty of time to catch up with them. Jonathan also fared well, as we had enough leftovers for him to have a complete meal at home.

Well, I am turning in early. It is up early for Natalie's Basketball tournament in Sidney!

I agree, Julie, the track meet was pretty darn cold!! Thankfully, Krisitn is involved with discus/shot put so we could literally watch her while sitting in our van.

Amy....I'm just hoping tomorrow's meet is cancelled....if we thought Friday was bad, it's going to be worse tomorrow!
