March sounds so much like Spring, doesn't it? The crocuses should be popping thier little purple and yellow heads through the snow any day now and then I'll really get excited! I brought in a bunch of my potted plants with spikes and ferns in the fall and they are still alive in the garage. I also have three hibiscus in my house by the patio door (which look very poor right now) trying to soak up as much light as possible ...I'm anxious to get them out in the sunshine..that is the sunshine with the 70 degrees that will go along with it!
March is Spring Housecleaning month at the Fausey's. I am a pretty avid cleaner, but once every other year, I really take it to a new level. I'll start upstairs in Jenna and Lauren's rooms and wash linens and draperies, go through drawers and closets, wash down the walls, touch up paint, wash the windows and clean the carpet. I will make my way through the house, a couple of rooms per week, while I'm waiting for the weather to warm up and we can start on all the outside projects. (And this year, I have a bunch of those!)
So, as depressing as it sounds, someone really was thinking when they called it "Spring" Cleaning, because its the only time of year that we can bear to spend 8-10 hours a day, for weeks on end, cleaning! Well, before I start getting depressed thinking about what I look forward to, I have one more day of normality.
