I was so motivated and pumped in March and April to get all my inside housecleaning done, so that I could be outside in May and play in the dirt. Not! I think I have been able to spend 2 days so far this month outside! One of those days was this last Saturday. No sleeping in at the Fausey house! Other than Jenna visiting her boyfriend's family in Vandalia, everyone else was up and helping shortly after 8. We had one day, just a short window of time, to get one heck of a lot of things done outside when it wasn't either raining, freezing, or dealing with 40 mph winds. I finished planting the last little area of the garden that I hadn't been able to get to, and then proceeded to the front yard where Dan was trimming the bushes. There were weeds in the beds and the dirt need worked up before planting. The trimming turned into mowing for Dan and the boys and Lauren and Natalie finished some inside chores before washing the car and watering the 3 flats of impatiens I planted! Mulching is next in line, but first we had to clear all the areas around the trees of excess grass, (a good job for the boys). Either way, we all came in a little burned by the sun and exhausted!
Back to rainy weather on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and today. I have, "balance the checkbook" on the list. Not one of those things I've been jumping up and down to do. Or, "organize my jewelery box"? Hmmm... why do I torture myself? I guess I should look at the bright side. I still have 8 precious days before I have to motivate myself and 4 kids every day!! Now that's where the work really starts!
