I know that seems like a strange question, and no, I'm not referring to my kids' current status! Sometimes I feel like I just go through motions. Laundry, cooking, cleaning. Ironing, dentist appointments, helping Lauren pack.
Yesterday it was groceries. Today it was canning/freezing tomatoes. Tomorrow it is watering and weeding. I so love summer, but I have been so much in a routine that even though I am busy, (from 6:45 a.m. when I drive Natalie to Cross Country practice to 11 p.m. when I fall into bed), I'm really kinda bored.
As noted on my last post, we took a day trip 2 weeks ago to Yellow Springs which was fun and a great change of pace. Last week we took another outing to The Beach Waterpark with the kids and their friends. I tried a few of the rides...yes, even The Cliff!, but most of the time sweated my "you know what" off, sitting on a lounge chair in the 95 degree heat. Yep, trying to squeeze in all of summer that we can.
We are now on borrowed time. We move Lauren into her 1st apartment on Friday. We have a trailer rented so the garage and living room is full of furniture, mattresses and clothes! She is excited, and I don't blame her, but I am sad to see her go. She has plans to stay in Toledo next summer to take classes and work, so this maybe the end of her permanent residency on Greystone Drive.
Natalie is attending Driver's Ed. Yes, another one to drive. Although I was leary and reluctant with Jenna and Lauren, I am ready for her. With all the trips into school and practice, to friends and library, and wherever else they go, it will be nice for her to be able to take herself there! But, she only gets her permit soon, so we have until February until my frequent trips into town can cease!
Well, one more load of laundry to fold....
Mmmm...Busy? yes. Bored? maybe. (a little too much of the same old routine.)
Would I change a thing?........nope!
