Not much new on the Fausey homefront. Well nothing is new, but that doesn't mean nothing isn't happening.
I don't know about anyone else, but this time of year, the month before school lets out, is one of the craziest of the year. We have some overlapping of sports activities....track meets along with softball and baseball practice and all those end of the year banquets, etc. In addition to graduation preparation, (more on that on another post) there is the job of getting Jenna and all her "stuff" home. Actually, that is the easy part. Finding what to do with all her stuff is the hard part!
Lauren has started training for her new job. Natalie still has an AAU BB tournament, Prom is this Saturday, which means flowers and dress fittings and tanning! Opening day for Baseball is next week. I keep a planner and almost every night in the next 2 months has some activity scheduled. What else would we do with our evenings? That reminds me, Swim Team deadline is Thursday. Yesterday I got hit up about summer basketball and running camp choices to explore for Natalie and oh yes, I'm trying to finalize all Lauren's senior trip plans...wheww...I can not survive without my To Do List.
The graduation invitations are arriving daily, so I need to think about gifts, and of course, there are acheivement tests, end of the school year projects and how could I forget the Cavs! We have become NBA fans, thanks to the boys (never thought I would be saying that!) and they are in the playoffs, so we try to catch their games on TV when we can squeeze them in.
Jr. High Track meet tonight in between the rain. Natalie ran very well. She had an awesome night last Friday in her "800" as I posted, but she has also been running the mile all season and has been very consistent. Too consistent. She has run 7-8 races so far and has ranged between a 5:41 and a 5:46. She has not been able to break that 5:41 time for anything.
Well, they ran the girls and boys mile together tonight. That made all the difference. She came in second!!...She had someone pushing her. She was just 2 seconds behind the lead boy runner, with a 5:34. That is an 7 second drop and an awesome time for an 8th grader. Not that I'm not proud or anything, but that time probably has her in the top 5 in her age group in the state. ( I only have found one mile time lower that hers.) It is so fun to see her after she runs...she just wants to call her sister Jenna. As a mother, that makes me smile inside and out. Jenna is so proud of her, even if she is blowing away her Jr. High times.
Well, time for American Idol. (another spring distraction...)
