Tart Taste of Spring

I have not been very successful in getting the second garden planted. We started, (well, I guess it was Dan) to till the 15 x 20 area, but have not been able to finish because of the rain. I did take a short walk last night to garden #1 and picked some rhubarb, though. I immediately came in and started a Strawberry Rhubarb pie at 7 o clock. Natalie stayed up until it was cool enough to eat....oh my, was it good. It set perfectly and was a perfect blend of sweetness and tartness. I was going to take a picture of my nice lattice work, but was too eager to cut into it. I will have to make another one next week. I know Jenna is going to read this and want some! There will be plenty of rhubarb....it keeps coming and coming. I will definitely use this same recipe again...it did not turn out watery at all!

Early in the semester, Jenna found out that in her Etching class she had to submit a piece of her artwork to a national juried art show. Whoever in the class that was accepted would be guaranteed an A. She is in this class with many Fine Art and grad students and kind of felt she was in a little over her head. She was not happy. It was $30 and she thought it was a waste of time. She called me last night ecstatic. She received a letter yesterday and was accepted! I don't know if she was more excited that she receives an A in the class, and now possibly a 4.0 for the semster, or that she is entered into a national art show! Either way, her enthusiasm was uplifting. We are proud of you, Jenna.

Everyone was home tonight. Well, 6 of us, that is. No practices, no one at the Y to play Basketball, no friends house, just home together. Soon, (8 days) we will all be together again! Yippee!
