No Stress on Sundays!

Lauren is in Panama City, Florida. Yesterday, Jenna first left for Columbus at 7 something in the morning with Katie, a former Minster CC teammate to watch the State Track Meet. Lauren, Natalie and myself left for Columbus around 11 after Natalie was done with her volunteer recycling commitment. We got close to the airport and stopped for lunch. There were all kinds of fun restaurants around, but my girls picked Home Town Buffet. I can handle that too. Great salad makings, considering I am trying desperately to lose about 10 pounds.

I must admit, I was pretty stressed about this trip of Lauren's. After all the problems I had with her being bumped twice off of her flight, I was expecting the worst at the airport. It went fine. She texted me when she arrived in Atlanta and texted me as soon as she landed in Panama City. She understands me pretty well, and knows I worry... alot! She called me when they arrived at the hotel and texted me when she got in her room for the night. Jenna was still somewhere in Columbus for the night, but I still slept pretty well.

All is well today. The rest of Lauren's class arrived safely and Jenna is back home. We kind of bummed around getting odd jobs done around here. I watered my garden and the backyard flowers. Dan worked on getting the Launch Pod (a 12 foot floating trampoline) ready for the pond. This is a job. It weighs about 100 lbs and we either store in in the attic or basement over the winter. There is the task of blowing up the innertube and checking for leaks. (Which he found 3 and patched.) We will let it sit overnight to check if we are good to go. It is a big job then to put the innertube into the outer covering and load into the middle of the pond and then drop the 100 pounds or more of weight to anchor it for the summer....(or until we discover a leak and start all over again.) Hopefully it will still be firm in the morning.

I picked fresh spinach from the garden this afternoon and made spinach salad complete with eggs and bacon and warm bacon dressing along with steak on the grill and baked potatoes. Oh, it was yummy. I could have ate more spinach salad and actually passed on the steak. The garden is doing well overall, thanks to a couple of hours help from Dad to get it looking good again and replanting my beans afer the first planting refused to come up.

Another busy week ahead with 5 ball games, hair and dentist appointments, swim meets, open gyms, lifting and church at 8 in the morning. Jonathan and Andrew are now servers, so they have duties Monday and Tuesday morning. Still not quite on the schedule that I would like, but I'm not sure if this summer is going to be as predictable as other years before.

I think Stephen Covey says it well. "How different our lives are when we really know what is deeply important to us, and, keeping that picture in mind, we manage ourselves each day to be and do what really matters most."

I know what is most important, but for me, complicates it even more.....
