Summer "Time"

I can't believe it is the middle of June already...where is time going? Gosh, I was just running around crazy getting ready for graduation. Schedules have been pretty busy lately, as we just came home tonight from watching a baseball game and a softball game in the drizzle.

Last night we had the same, 2 away games, and we have another baseball game tomorrow night. Oh, and a double header on Saturday. The boys have basketball camp this week and how could I forget?....Sunrise Club started Monday at 7:15 a.m. For those of you that are unfamilar, Sunrise Club is basically open to anyone in junior high and up that wants to run and/or stay in shape over the summer. Years back, I think it started primarily for the cross country runners to start training, but has evolved into so much more. It is not just for the girls either, but for anyone. Jenna and Lauren still go on some days when their college CC training allows and Andrew even went Monday too. I think there is 50-60 kids that show up on Mon/Wed/Fridays. They get sent to run for awhile, based on their sport and level and then even physio-ball and yoga to complete the session.

Schedule Example, Andrew. He will be at Sunrise at 7:15 tomorrow a.m., quick get in a run and then try to get to Mass by 8, (Its McDonalds day!), come home, get ready for swim team from 11 until 12, come home, quick eat, head to BB camp from 1 until 4:30, quick get home to eat again before his 6:30 baseball game...then try to get some sleep before camp and swim meet Thursday night.

And if you think that's a lot....Andrew is only hitting 3 sports right now. Natalie is trying four! Yes, I know what you are all thinking...these kids need some down-time. They are getting it! Natalie has read 5-6 novels already this summer and finds time for friends and plenty of sleeping too!

Family time? To be honest, we have had meals every night together for the last week as a family, with the exception of Lauren being in Panama City. That's important to me. We maybe eating at 4:30 in the afternoon, but by gosh, we're eating together!!

Lauren arrived safely home early Sunday morning. I now can breathe easily for another 4 years before Natalie has her Senior trip. They had a good time. From what I hear and saw in pictures, the hotel is absolutely stunning. The Holiday Inn Sunspree sits right on the ocean and has gorgeous views of the beach and pure white sand. Some of the parents of the kids that were down there came over to our house Friday night and we had our own "beach party." We even took camera phone pictures and texted them down to the kids! It was a little chilly, but a still, gorgeous night for a few friends and a few refreshments!
We then had family over Sunday afternoon for some burgers and dogs....and calico beans and cheesy potatoes.....and garden grown spinach salad and jello.....and fruit salad and cherries-in-the-snow and ended with banana split dessert. Oh my, everything was so good! The kids played in the pond, and for a few of the youngest, it was their first time they had their toes in the sand. Dan and I even ended up together on the paddleboat...now that was a 1st!!

Tomorrow, Lauren and I head to Toledo for Rocket Launch. Basically, it is orientation where she will sign up for classes, meet with her advisor, and get everything set for coming back in 8 weeks...yes, in 8 weeks, I lose them both!
So, like I started this post saying...WHERE IS TIME GOING?
