Dinner anyone?

Our eating schedule is drastically out of whack! I will use today as an example. 4 of the 5 kids had running club at 7:15 a.m. They came home around 8:30 and all ate their second breakfast. That is the best we did all day! I cannot eat when I get up, so I had a bowl of cereal about 10. Jonathan then ate his breakfast around 11 in the morning. It consisted of 2 pop tarts and cold meat turkey. Well, he called it lunch.

Jenna and Lauren went to work. Around 1:30, I tried for lunch. I had 3 takers. Andrew, Natalie and Jonathan again. Jenna and Lauren came home in between their morning and evening shifts and were starving. I fed Lauren her lunch around 3:30 so she could back to work by 4:00 and then fed Jenna as soon as Lauren finished. Around 4:30, Jonathan was hungry again, so I fed him before his football practice from 5 to 7. Then the rest were hungry, so they ate about 5:30. Not sure if I even ate dinner today...unless you call one piece of pizza a dinner that was in between Jenna and Lauren's lunch and Natalie and Andrew and Dan's dinner.

Lauren came home early from work tonight...9 o'clock....she is having popcorn for a snack, but technically it should be her dinner. (?) Jenna should be home from work around 10:30 as she "closed" tonight. She will be hungry and want real food! Ok, you get the picture. It is chaos. They are all really active right now, with Cross Country training in full swing, (the 4 of them ran a combined total of over 22 miles today!), so we just can't get by on mac and cheese and frozen pizza. I feel like I am in the kitchen thee entire day. Not just cooking, but constantly cleaning up....only to pull everything out of the fridge for the next person.

I looked at Jonathan's football schedule for the next 3 weeks. Practice from 5-7 p.m. daily. That, combined with Jenna and Lauren's work schedule, means this is not changing anytime soon. Actually, to be exact, the first week of school. So, even though this sounds a little backwards, we will be eating together more once school starts then in the middle of the summer when things should be laid back and easy.

Sundays look like the only family day left.....AND, there are only two of those left before we take Jenna back to Toledo. Wow!... reality is sinking in....
