Pond Party!

The boys have been asking for weeks (actually months) to have their pond party. Basically just mix 12-15 friends, some Kool-Aid, chips, sunshine and water. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, we first had to work around swim team practices and baseball games. (too much fun in the sun does not mix with a winning team!) Then it came down to decent weather...then starting next week football practice is every day, so it was this week, or never.

Then the next dilemma. Jonathan wanted to invite "the girls", and Andrew said No! Bottom line, party was today. 8 boys, 7 girls. 3 1/2 hours. They had fun! I watched and kept an eye on them, you know, a lot of segregation. The boys all got out of the pond and hit the snacks and then when they went back in the water, the girls got out and got some food. Too Cute! This, as far as I know, is their first...girl/boy outing...I'm sure the first of many!

What happened to my Buzz and Woody fans or my Pokemon little guys?....I've gotten use to the girls now and their socialization with the other gender, but this is new to me...

I so remember asking them back when they were four if they would always sit on my lap and cuddle with me....and of course they said yes. Those days are "so" over...I'm lucky to get a hug anymore! (Hey boys, are you reading this???)
