Another Tradition

This back to school stuff is not new to me.....Jenna's 1st day of Kindergarten was 15 years ago! That is a lot of "1st day of schools". We have a family tradition like many people do...pictures on the front porch. Jenna and Lauren's 1st day was on Beaufort Street in Toledo, Natalie on Barrington in Toledo and the twins on Lakewood, here in Minster. So, no matter how old they are, they have their pictures taken. One of each of them together and a couple of them individually! Even the football player didn't argue with me this morning! They know better than to mess with Mom's traditions. They know that come graduation time, these pictures will be included in their video.

Obviously, way back 15 years ago, digital cameras weren't around, so for Jenna and Lauren's graduation video I had to do quite a bit of searching through photographs and then scan them in, but all 13 pictures of them were in their video, and to even take it one step further, I also have pictures of the kids on their last day of school with their teacher! (up until 6th grade, that is...I guess I know my limits!!)

Tradition, tradition tradition....once you start them, you must continue!

So, you can bet Lauren wasn't too surprised when I sent her a text early yesterday morning wishing her a Happy 1st day of College and then asked her who was going to take her picture outside of her dorm! (in Toledo!)

This is Lauren's 1st day of preschool from our home on Barrington....(Literally, a 1/2 mile from where she is right now!!)

This is from 1995! Natalie, here you were just learning to sit up and today you headed to your first day of high school....oh my....it seems like yesterday...
