The Week in Review

I have so much to catch up on! I'll try and be brief. The Minster meet was pretty uneventful for the Fausey family. Andew ended up calling from school at 12:30 and needed to come home. He was sick and pretty much felt rotten for the next 3 days. Low grade temp and stomache and headache. So, obviously, he didn't run. Natalie had a less than average day, so all in all pretty disappointing.

Thursday, Jonathan played football in the rain in New Bremen. Also a little disappointing. He personally played pretty well, but they lost. Now I understand those Tide commercials from quite a few years back about football uniforms. Wow! I felt I had to have a mask on in the laundry room after he dumped his WET uniform and pads in there! Yuckk! I think it needs to even be washed again...

The homecoming festivities started in full force. The game was Friday night, complete with a tailgate party. I knew it would get damp and cold, but no one thought coats were necessary. Even though Natalie and Andrew had a CC meet the next morning, they really wanted to stay for the whole game. I thought it strange that just a little into the 3rd quarter, Natalie was ready to come home.
Of course the boys weren't. We compromised. When I helped Natalie get her bags packed for the next day, I picked up her clothes she had on at the game. Pretty damp! So, she sat in wet clothes for a couple of hours! They're kids, right? They can handle those things, right?

Saturday was crazy. Natalie left at 6:45 to get the bus for Van Wert. Andrew 30 minutes later. Julie and Dan, 30 minutes after that. Finally a productive day. Minster girls and boys Junior High were winners, along with the High School girls and boys!!! A sweep! Andrew had a great race. Couldn't quite get in the top pack most of the race. Was probably 8-10th until the final 800 and then slowly took them one (or two) at a time. He finished 3rd. He had a PR of 11:28.
Now that is the face of determination! Natalie also had a much better race and had a PR of 20:31. Overall, our times are still a little high. We have a little under 3 weeks until MAC. This is when the good stuff gets going and times start to drop. (Hopefully!) We are ranked first in the State in Division 3 behind Spencerville. We proved fairly easily we are better than them as they were the major competition at Van Wert. Our team score was a 33 and they were second with a 68.
Look at all that orange and black!

Quick trip home, quick lunch, and then a 2 o clock hair appt. for Natalie. Quick get dressed, do makeup and straighten up house. Quick get side dish to proper place for Natalie's dinner and quick get to church. Quick get to the Freshman pictures. Quick get the kids home for dinner and then quick get to a party by 8 p.m.! Whew!
Natalie looking sophisticated (& way too old for 14!)
Her and her date....
Entire freshman class. They clean up pretty darn good!

There is nothing going to be "quick" about today. Natalie and the other CC team members all had a sleepover and breakfast and isn't home yet. She will need to sleep today. Maybe a load of laundry (or two) and take out a few flowers yet. It looks like this might be the warmest day of the week. I would love to enjoy the warm sunshine. The grill sounds good for dinner. Hmmm...Wagners has steaks on sale. I guess my day is planned.
