I Caught Sunshine

It's kind of like catching a cold, but I caught sunshine all right! I took full advantage of these 2 nice days and crammed a lot of outside work in a short amount of time. Yesterday I ripped out 6 dead bushes, tilled the garden, gave my 2 garden benches a nice coat of black to get them looking good again, got the firepit patio up to par, got the rest of the patio furniture out, and put a coat of polyurethane on my teak outdoor cooler. I also took 8 pots that I kept in the garage over the winter with ivy and ferns still alive and cut out all the dead.

Today I started early and bought my seeds and onion sets and potatoes. I planted 3/4 of my current garden. I planted beans, peas, broccoli, lettuce, onions and potatoes. The tomatoes and peppers will have to wait a few more weeks. I now have to stake out the second garden that will house the canteloupe, pumpkins, zuchinni and squash. Hmmm, what am I missing?

I caught so much sunshine I look like a beet! I even used sunscreen, but it didn't matter today! I was smart though and wore a sleeveless top so I don't have a farmer tan...oops, I mean burn!

Dan is in Bowling Green with Natalie at another BB tournament. Jenna drove down from Toledo to watch one of her games. Lauren just went to dinner with Sam, so it is just me and the boys this evening. I think I'm on the couch. Not that I'm complaining. I have been waiting a long time to play in the dirt again, but I now have the next 5 days to get ready for my big garage sale that starts Thursday.

So, I was commenting how nice it would be to bottle this sunshine up in my previous post.... I think I did. I will be feeling the affects of this wonderful sunshine for the next day ot two for sure...it'll help me get through the next 3 rainy days.
