It is six something in the morning. I just can't find the time to post any other time.
The Toledo Cross Country team is running today in Terre Haute for Pre-Nationals and of course Jenna and Lauren wanted to go. Neither of them are running, (just Varsity) as Jenna just missed the cut. Her leg/knee/IT band is still causing problems 11 months later (that is another topic). They originally were going to drive with friends from Toledo to Terre Haute, watch the races and drive directly back in one day. About 10 hours of driving. I was not crazy with that idea at all. So I convinced them that Minster is right on the way, so they came home last night and Dan is driving them there and back. I feel much better with this scenario. Lauren has her laptop with her and they both brought homework and can even probably get a little sleep on the way home. Andrew went along too.
The best of the best are running today. They took the Division 1 Schools in the nation and placed them in two races. UT is currently ranked 36th and will run against 9 highly rated teams, among others. A great opportunity to move up. There are huge names going to be there. I would be a name dropper, but most of you would be bored. Either way, it will be a great day, although a little chilly, for Cross Country today.
Meanwhile, I am home with Natalie and Jonathan, and now realizing how much Cross Country and running rules our life. I just got those four out of the door, and now it is time to get Natalie up for practice. Post Season has begun.
It was a Sweep at the MAC Cross Country meet Thursday night! Minster girls and boys High School were winners along with Junior High girls and boys. The boys just edged out Coldwater by one point, and our lead girl had the flu which made for a suspenseful evening. This is a first in MAC History. Way to go Minster!!
Andrew took second to his teammate and Natalie continues to stay steady. Her hip is feeling better, and I think most of the inflammation is gone. Her pain is reduced, so hopefully she can stay healthy for the next few weeks. State is 3 weeks from today. Wow, where did this season go? Andrew is also running post-season in the Middle School Championships next Sunday. Are you all tired of me talking CC yet?
Sorry.
Can you imagine poor Jonathan? I guess he is use to it! He finished his football season on Thursday. I tried all summer to sway him to running, but he was adamant, and now so am I. He needs to play football. You heard me. He is good and he likes it and I actually think he has some leadership skills. I am proud of you Jonathan. Great Season! (We need a little variety anyway, don't you think?)
Meanwhile, I started my new position this week. It is interesting and will keep me hopping! At least the outdoor jobs and activities are over, so that gives me the extra time.
Well, the sun is up...finally! I am still waiting on Indian Summer. It has been a lousy couple of weeks. The forecast is predicting some sun the next few days, but I would prefer the thermometer showing some 70's instead of 50's and 60's.
Ok, almost everyone is gone today...I can crank the stereo and clean the house. :)
