STATE CHAMPS!!

Many of you may have heard that our Minster girls won the Division III State Cross Country Title yesterday afternoon.  What an absolutely exciting day.  The weather was perfect, the fans were plentiful and the outcome stupendous!

We arrived at Scioto Downs earlier than usual...(just more time to stress...)  No really! This probably is one of the most stressful things I go through every year!  11:05 a.m. finally came, and 19 minutes and 54 seconds later, Natalie finished.  Her teammates were all close behind and withing 15 minutes, it was announced that Minster had won their 8th State Title. We are now officially, the winningest girls Cross Country team in the state, and Coach Jessie has 7 of those 8 titles as head coach.

The firetruck parade was warm and probably the longest ever....people came outside and waved and like I said in the last post,... this just doesn't get old. 

The girls were welcomed into the gym by a bunch of fans, and we listened to Jessie condense the season and the State meet into a wonderful collection of stories about each girl that made up the State team.  

The evening finished at our house with the girls and parents celebrating with lots of junk food and watching the coverage on TV.  

What  wonderful, wonderful day!  These memories will linger for a long time....(and I'm just the Mom..)

 There might have been a hundred people watching, but I think she was really just enjoying the moment here.  She had this small little grin on the rest of the evening. (Well, she does have the hardware to justify that!)
