The Good and the Bad... the happy... the MAD!

Well, the excitement of the State Tournament has now worn off.  Darn. It sure was sweet while it lasted.

The last 10 days have consisted of work, work and more work.  I worked 40 hours last week with close to 10 hours of travel time but only 25 this week.  I am off tomorrow which means I get to work at home and play catch up....

The twins celebrated their 13th birthday this past weekend.  They had a small (is 19 kids small?) birthday party complete with a picture cake on Friday night and dinner with family on Sunday.  The girls each received a special present on their 13th birthday.   A small (really small) diamond ring. The boys understand this tradition and have been wondering for years what they would receive.  They are still waiting.  I can't give it away, but this gift was shipped last Thursday and still hasn't arrived. It was mistakenly shipped to our old address  and is now lost in postal paradise!  ughhh!!  At least the boys are old enough to understand.  I'm glad they were not prepaid.  How frustrating!!

Natalie had two days off after State and was at Basketball practice already last Wednesday afternoon and at a Scrimmage on Saturday in Marion, Ohio and then another in Wapak on Tuesday.  She travels tomorrow for an official scrimmage at Lima Bath.  I received the BB schedule for both her and the twins and put all their practices and games in my calendar.  Oh my!  I even had to color code them to keep it straight.  We will be averaging 4 games per week.  Practices range from after school to 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  This is going to be worse than CC and Football season.  And expensive!

Lauren called me today with some bad news.  She was at practice today at Wildwood (a metropark in Toledo) where the team practices almost every day.  Different girls drive there every day and today after coming back from their run, realized that one of their cars had been stolen!!  It was the car that Lauren and two of her roommates had driven in.  Her phone, wallet, purse, gym bag and a bunch of work-out clothes are gone.  Of course, I am thankful she is safe and nothing is gone that cannot be replaced, but it is still very sad.  We cancelled her debit card and her phone, but will have to get her driver's license renewed, etc.  The three girls are now sharing one set of keys to get in their room and have to get their room rekeyed.  She had her new Vera Bradley wallet from her birthday (2 weeks old) in the car and darn it, it just makes me mad! The police seemed to think that based on the make and model of the car, they would piece the car out and it would be found somewhere.  We  can hope they leave the personal items in the vehicle, but hey, who knows...

So, one of those days....I received that phone call at 4 p.m. and haven't gotten a whole lot accomplished since then.   Like I said, I'm home tomorrow, so its cleaning and laundry, here I come!....and maybe some good news?
