Cleaning, Crutches and a Championship!

I am still on schedule with the cleaning.  I consider myself to be a pretty good housecleaner, but these pictures don't back that up!  Last week I completed the Living Room and the Dining Room.  Sounds easy enough, right?  Well, the curio cabinet in the Living Room contains about 80 Precious Moments.  I took each one out, hand washed it, and put it back away...that was a lot of trips back and forth into the kitchen! My buffet and hutch in the Dining Room contains my china and crystal.  Ughh! That project took 3 hours alone. In addition, I washed and ironed the sheers, got the cob webs out of the corners, washed the windows and polished the furniture.  In addition, I cleaned the carpet going up the steps and in the hallway to the kids' rooms.

The china cabinet empty...How does all that dust get in there when it is always closed up anyway?

The Dining Room is done!

Same thing here. Next day.

That was a lot of hand washing!

Ok, this water came out of just 12 steps.  Oh my...and we don't even wear shoes in the house!

So, I'm sleeping better at night knowing my house is cleaner! This week I have the fun job of the Master Bedroom and Bathroom, but that can't happen until my closet gets switched from Fall/Winter clothes to Spring/Summer.  So, yesterday, in addition to 3 loads of laundry, (I was lazy over the weekend), I almost have that accomplished. I will complete bathroom today and Bedroom tomorrow.

I  have a short week with cleaning as Friday we will be travelling to Columbus to watch the girls BB team play in the State Semi-finals.  How exciting! This town sure comes out and supports their kids!  Can't wait to see all the painted cars and signs in town.  Ordered 3 final four t-shirts today (just what I need, 3 of the same shirt!.)

On the less positive note, Lauren is on crutches.  While on Spring Break in Myrtle Beach with the team, she ran into what she thought was just a puddle, but instead a huge pothole.  Her ankle is badly swollen and painful.  They arrived back in Toledo late, late Sunday night and she hobbled around to her classes yesterday.  The doctor ordered xrays and we are anxiously awaiting those results today.  The best news would be that it is a bad sprain and she can get into a "boot" soon, which will make walking and getting around a litttle easier.

Either way, what a bummer!  Her track season is now all but over and now her and her sister can watch all the meets together, from the bench. (not fun at all.)

Track practices have been going well.  Jon informed me that he actually likes track.  ??  Of course, he won't be running any distance events, but seems to like what he didn't think he would.  Natalie and Andrew got a jump start on the season with the first 5k of the year on Sunday.  St. Henry had their St. Patrick's day run and other than it being pretty chilly, did well. Natalie was the 2nd female to finish and Andrew was 2nd in his age group.  There were close to 500 runners.  Way to go guys!

Ok, I've wasted enough time and its time to get motivated! The sunshine is out and it's going to be close to 60.  What a great day to be cleaning.   :)
