Buzz and Woody Forever!!!
Toy Story 1 and 2 came out when the boys were real little and was a huge part of their childhood. Jonathan instantly took to the "cowboy" aspect of life and was dressed in a black & white vest, "Woody" cowboy hat, cowboy boots and a stick pony from roughly the time he was 2 until close to 5 years of age. Andrew must have felt Buzz more closely matched his personality and use to scream "from infinity and beyond" a million times a day in his high pitched screaming voice. They watched the movie more times than I can even imagine and a highlight of one vacation was seeing them both meet their heroes face to face at Disney MGM Studios.
So, flip forward 8-10 years and Toy Story 3 is here! For old time sake, Mom and Dad took Jonathan and Andrew to see the move Friday night. It was a wonderful movie and I laughed and yes, even cried! It was bittersweet, too, as watching the movie brought back so many memories of little boys and times and moments that I wish I could turn back the clock and relive some of that era for just one day. I'm being a little sentimental, but those simple days of cowboys and space men are now replaced with war video games, girl-boy parties, intense running schedules and fighting over the cell phone.
Buzz and Woody are packed away in the attic and I'm sure those toys are waiting to be pulled out someday by more little boys who will love them as much as Jonathan and Andrew did....
