The week (or Year) in a new perspective...

What's with the weather? I was doing so great and was on time with all the planting and outside work, and then this awful weather and awful cold started. Sore Throats and bad colds have been going around here. Natalie and Andrew both had it last week and I even kept Andrew home last Friday. Saturday, my throat starting hurting and then Monday the cold hit. The sniffling, sneezing, bodyaches, coughing, absolutely feel awful kind of cold that you hate, started! I didn't feel like doing anything Monday or Tuesday. I even didn't make it to the yearly Spring Band Concert...darn! :)  I thought for sure after I took my nightly dose of Nyquil Tuesday night that I would wake up feeling fine...not! Jenna came home yesterday and then Matt came about 2 hours later. The boys needed pasta for their pasta dinner and so my afternoon was spent cooking. I crashed again on the couch right after dinner and then again, thought for sure I would wake up feeling great today. Nope!  It is still here! Ugghh! So, I'm on too Sudafed today. I have my fingers crossed.

Of course, the weather is not supposed to be good today, so the Jr. High MAC Track meet may or may not be on. It just doesn't look nice out there. There is  a light fog that is lingering, the clouds are thick, the wind is back and with the temps supposed to hit over 80 degrees it sounds like a recipe for severe weather to me.

It has been great to get Lauren home. We've had some time to catch up on all the details that somehow get lost in the short 3-5 minute phone calls in between practice and class. Saturday was spent putting her stuff away and doing about 3 weeks of laundry. She is pretty organized now with a few piles still in various places waiting to be dealt with. She started work already at LaPiazza Monday morning. She is training to be a server. (More $$ than hostessing) So, we have her for exactly 90 days. Sounds good now, but I know how fast time flies!

Natalie is continuing her PT. Obviously she can't run, so it's hard to figure out if it's getting any better. She is taking her Advil to keep the inflammation down, faithfully doing her stretches and still cross training.  It's that time of year, when all the projects and end of year business is due, so I must say she has spending a lot of time in her bedroom with homework.

I have been keeping this "diary" for a little over a year now, and spent a few minutes this morning looking over what we were doing last year, this week.  Wow!  We were preparing for Lauren's graduation and Jenna had also just come home and things were pretty crazy just like they are now.  So much of the same, yet so different.  I think the thing that gets me the most, is that it feels as if I just wrote that post yesterday.  We were celebrating Jenna's first college 4.0, and just yesterday Lauren checked every hour for that last grade to post and there it was...a perfect 4.0! (Great Job Lauren!  We are so proud of you!) We were so excited for Natalie and her perfect track sesason, and now instead we are talking rehab and no post season, but instead putting focus on not just Andrew's great running season, but Jonathan's too. We have fewer parties to go to this year, and a little less stress without having to throw one, but something always fills the time and space and energy, doesn't it?

Another year, another million memories.  Yes, I get like this ever so often. Putting this all in writing really gives me perspective.  I've realized it's good to look back, glance forward, but live now.
